Safety First.  Safety Always.

In an industry in which a small oversight can have devastating consequences, EasTex Tower is unrelenting in its commitment to safety.  Safety is our top priority and is never compromised.

EasTex Tower is a founding member of the National Association of Tower Erectors (NATE), whose mission is to educate tower companies and their clients, to facilitate safety training, and to pursue, formulate, and adhere to uniform standards of safety to ensure the continued well-being of tower personnel.

Our owner and President, Jim Miller, sits on NATE's Board of Directors. Jim has been an unyielding supporter of safety in the tower industry. Most recently, Jim moderated an industry-wide safety symposium for telecommunications leaders.

EasTex Tower has been accepted into NATE's STAR Initiative.  "The NATE STAR Initiative is the Association’s signature program designed to help companies operate safely and recognize tower contractors, tower owners and carriers who voluntarily adhere to higher safety standards. The NATE STAR Initiative emphasizes Safety, Training, Accountability and Reliability by asking participants to commit to requisite levels of training, site safety audits, and the implementation of safety programs while adhering to industry best practices.  NATE STAR Initiative participants are among a growing community of NATE members who demonstrate a commitment to the highest levels of tower safety. ... Thanks to the leadership and attention to detail by the participants, the implementation of the practices defined by the STAR Initiative will continue to increase the level of safety and vigilance in the industry."   --

Within EasTex Tower our Safety Directors have completed the OSHA 30-hour course and Advanced Tower Climbing Safety and Rescue courses.  Our Tower Technicians are Qualified Competent Climbers per OSHA standards and have completed Tower Climbing and Rescue Training, OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour courses, Winter Survival, CPR and First Aid, as well as additional customer-directed training. Every year in January our crews participate in mandatory Climber Safety, Fall Protection, Tower Rescue, CPR and First Aid classes.

On the jobsite, Site Supervisors lead daily tailgate safety meetings to assess and discuss potential jobsite hazards, as well as to keep safety uppermost in everyone's mind. Our crews are instructed to focus on safety, and every effort is made to make safety a way of life.

Substance Abuse Policy

Because impaired capability is directly inverse to safe tower climbing, EasTex Tower maintains a Substance Abuse Policy that meets or exceeds all industry standards.

Driver Competence

A background check and DOT-screening, including drug-screen, are required of all personnel pre-employment. Each potential driver participates in a drive test and each driver's record is submitted for verification of insurability. Drug and alcohol testing occur at random, as well as when indicated.

Our extensive pre-employment screening, our zero-tolerence policies, and our company culture of integrity open the door for only honest, reliable employees. Our crews routinely pass clearance screenings for government and energy site access.

NATE STAR Initiave

A big thanks to you and your crew.  They, all three, were very professional to work with.  They had all the right gear, were on time, and even had all the correct safety signs on a handy portable sign board.  Please pass along the "atta boy" to your crew.
